- doing “field” research is going out and documenting what you see or hear in person
- use personal experiences whether it was an event that happened in your life or someone else’s
- using surveys especially on a college campus is a useful way to find out what the public opinion is but the survey should not be biased
- interviewing experts is an excellent source of information
- make sure you find the right person to interview and have questions prepared
- send the person you want to interview emails or call them asking if they will be willing to be interviewed
- using library resources is also a great way to find information in a convenient way
