  • A qualifier clarifies the claim instead of stating something as universally true when it might not be .
  • Rebuttal shows that the writer has taken into account what arguments oppositions might have and has showed how they are wrong.
  • Carden claims that drugs should be legal to stop the violence.
  • Evidence to his claim is because legalizing drugs would lower the price of them, making drug dealers not as rich to fund all their revenues.
  • More evidence to his claim is that the crime and violence we hear about because of drugs actually happens because they are illegal.
  1. Her proposal is not very controversial because it is a well known fact the college debt is growing at an alarming rate and action must be taken to stop it.
  2. College students and those burdened with immense college debt to pay off would agree with her because they want fairer conditions and make academic and financial success possible for future generations.
  3. Some tax payers would disagree because they don’t want their taxes increased to pay for new education funds and some members of the government would disagree because they don’t want things to change and have to give more funds toward education.
